ABOUT · Since 2015
One supplier, from the screen to the crew that stands it up.
Airscreens VFX Solutions was founded in 2015 by Alexander (Lexy) Michael, as Aircover Inflatables UK, to bring the Academy Award-winning AirWall system to productions in the UK and Europe, and added the first fully waterproof green and blue screens. The company is based in the UK and works wherever the shoot is, with US productions handled by partners Viet Luu and Barry St. John.
Licensee of Aircover Inflatables, Canada.
The AirWall was engineered by Aircover Inflatables of Delta, British Columbia. Airscreens VFX Solutions holds the licence to hire the system, and has done so since the company was formed as Aircover Inflatables UK in August 2015.
Eighteen features and series so far, from Star Wars to Good Omens, with regular AirWall builds at Pinewood Studios. See the credits →
Technical Achievement Award for the Aircover Inflatables Airwall
Presented to David McIntosh, Steve Smith, Mike Branham and Michael Kirilenko at the 88th Scientific and Technical Awards for a modular inflatable panel system that can be rapidly erected on location at hundreds of feet in length, enabling large-scale composite shots with blue or green screens.
We coordinate with production, not around it.
From site inspection to installation and shooting days, the crew works with production and every relevant department so the screen is where the shot needs it, when it needs it. Screens and crew come from one place, so there is one phone number when something changes.
AirWall, AirPanel, Cinemattex, foam
Outdoor inflatable systems, waterproof fabric and indoor foam screens in every stock size.
Waterproof Cinemattex™
Rain, sun or underwater: a matte screen that does not change colour when wet.
Crew on shooting days
Installation, support and strike by the same team, worldwide.

People who have stood on the set side of the screen.
Airscreens is run by people from production, not a hire desk. Each partner brings their own credits.
